Did you know you can control your mind?


For many people, the concept is a new one – that you can actually control your thoughts.

Why is controlling your mind important?

Because your thoughts determine your reality.  Thoughts lead to how you feel and how you behave.  You can have all the material things you want, but if you think thoughts that lead you to feel depressed or anxious or angry or unfulfilled on a regular basis, then that’s the life you will have.

The process of thinking is actually pretty simple – you generate thoughts in your mind in the same way you perceive the real world – through what you see, what you hear and the feelings you experience.  So you generate a thought by what you see in your mind, what you hear (including what you say to yourself) and the feelings you generate in your body.

Any thought, feeling or behaviour is generated by you.

It may happen subconsciously, it may happen quicker than you can blink, but it’s still created by you.  This is a good thing – it puts you in control.

Most people want the rewards without the effort – I’ve been there myself.  But to have a different – a better – life, we have to do things differently.  It takes knowledge, then applying that knowledge consistently until it becomes a skill, then it becomes a new automatic thought, feeling or behaviour.

Dare to be different.  Decide on what you want.  Put in the effort.  Change things if they are not working.  The rewards will come.
